The term “Geosite” used by IUGS in 90’s to describe first-class importance to global geology, outstanding examples representing major stages of the Earth’s history, significant ongoing geological processes in the development of landforms, such as volcanic eruption, erosion, sedimentation, etc., or significant geomorphic or physiographic features, for example, volcanoes, fault scarps or inselbergs (Gray,1994).
